My surroundings are of great importance to my artistic practice. My paintings are a product of my everyday life, books I read, conversations I make and memories of my religious upbringing. In all, they constitute an exploration into my own identity, and bring about great variety in my work. They originate from a personal story, but it's important that the viewer can have an experience of their own when looking at my work. That is why I like to play with abstraction and symbolism, that everyone can read differently.
